Alcohol Drugs
Info Events
Alcohol and Drugs information
events are normally held on a one off basis . They can tailored to fit
any timeframe within reason, and can be used to address a wide range
of issues. The presentations can be formal or informal in delivery
according to the requirements of the group and adapted to suit various
ages and group sizes. The sessions are normally held at a venue within
the host community and the cost is covered by TIPSA.
Eugene and Marty see these as being
vital events to act as a springboard for community activity and are
often attended by parents, family members, youth and community
workers, other professionals or anyone else who wants to learn more
about alcohol and other drug use. On a number of occasions these
one-off events have launched other programmes in the community, and
while they can be very useful on their own, they work best when backed
up with other interventions-a lot obviously depends on the needs and
requests of individual communities.
